Painful Hairdressing

I hate to 'do' my hair. I know some girls enjoy going to the saloon but I hate sitting in that seat for hours. For a long time I suffered the $10 10 minute haircut and more often than not, come out looking a bit lopsided. Once in a long while, I will go do the highlights or rebond or watever.. but come out thinking I won't do this for at least a year after spending hours in the saloon.
So today I finally went to 'do' my hair.. thinking that I wish to highlight it. I got wavy natural curl hair, not VERY curl, just wavy.... and i tell u.. its.. such a pain...
Me: I want haircut and highlight
Hairdresser: U dont want to rebond ha?
Me: No I dont want to rebond.
H: Your hair natural curl should rebond. Easier to tidy
Me: No. I dont want to rebond.
H: Ur hair sticks out everywhere 'qiao lai qiao qu' Rebond easier for you.
Me: I rebonded twice liao. I dont wish to rebond.
H: Ya.. just telling you, rebond is better. So how you want to cut?
Me: uhh just cut.. err normal. Layer loh.. err.. 'siew bao' thin it a bit.
H: Ur hair dont rebond the more thin I make it.. worse it will qiao.
Me: MM.. then don't siew bao so much
H: Ya.. cos u never rebond that is why have tendency to qiao.
Me: MmmM.
H: Dont cut too many layers also... cos will make it 'qiao'
Me: Okay.. you 'kan zhe pan'
-trim trim. trim trim.-
H: so what colour you want?
me: -shows magazine- this one
H: this one must bleach u know
me: okay.
H: This type of colour very light leh. Bleach one.
me: ya.. okay. go ahead.
H: This girl looks nice cos she got base colour. You dnt have. This colour won't look nice on you.
Me: ok.. fine.. why dont u recommend me another colour??
H: This one nice.
Me: i dont want red base.
H: This one loh. Or you want this one.. need to bleach u know?
Me: ok.. this one is fine.
h: or you want to bleach??
Me: ... no.. this one is fine.
H: cos must ask ma.. whether you want to bleach, in case u dont want.
Me: ok.. that colour is fine.
H: you want your highlights to be finer or streaks?
me: Streaks is good.
H: streaks ah... I make streaks inside and fine highlights outside more nice okay?
me: okay.
H: ur fringe want highlight or not
me: (... NB.. ) yeah.
After agonising long. I realise she highlight one big fat streak on my fringe. Rest of my hair a little bit of streaks but mostly fine highlights.
Pain. ful. -

Somewhere at Bedok Central. Yeahhh auntie.. supposed to get this young guy but he was late.
nah... actually I meet hairdressers from hell wherever I go. I been to Kimage, to some saloon at Funan, to peter and guys, to Reds, to Jean Yip... they are everywhere!!!
The only hairdresser I liked is this guy at Hairplay at Toa Payoh Central. But today I lazy to go down... sigh.. which I regret. He doesn't talk, he understand that I have wavy hair and I am HAPPY to have wavy hair, and he tries to put tt wave into whatever style he cuts for me. -

But the thing is.. no matter where u go.. they never do a good cut twice. They just don't. One of the reasons why I dont wanna go back is... that fear that now I found this guy (he only cut my hair once)... he might disappoint me greatly again

The only thing painful about going to get my hair coloured is that I spend at least 4 hours at the hairdresser
The ones I go do don't push me for anything and they cut well enough
My fav hairdresser was from ProTrim at CWP but he migrated to Thailand
Then I went to this guy from SuperCuts at FEP but I had to wait 2 hrs everytime with appointment and I gave up
After that I went to Georgie's at AMK Central but the hairstylist quit coz she had to stay at home to look after her sick mother-in-law
Now I just go to The Hair Secret at Eastpoint
Tried 2 stylist so far and they seem ok
At least I got compliments for my hairstyle
Btw I have very straight hair (it's mid-length now so it curls at ends) that usually the stylist will comment that I never have to rebond and just blow drying will have it straight... thing is...thinking of letting my hair grow long and perm it coz I think straight hair looks soooo limp -
sigh... yaloh.. all my friends with nice straight hair want perms and people like me with natural curls.. go through phases of wanting to acidify the curls out of our hair. when I have short hair, it just becomes a bird nest.

That's why I can't be bothered any more- I cut my own hair and the family's too.

Sure or not. I used to go to HairMine or something along Pagoda Street. They are pretty good but I hate top travel so far.... city area leh.... dont think so la... lazy...

Thankfully for me it's simple - "Uncle, just cut it short".
I don't even bother to style my hair when I go out. Just don't see the point. All that spiky hair doesn't really look good to me. -
