ehhhhh i remember mine was at a shop with blue neon lights.Originally posted by Rhonda:Hey, kopi! I went to eat Souvlavki at this joint along Bridge Road but it wasn't nice, leh! The meat was tough and I wasn't sure if it was the famous tsitki (or whatchamacallit) sauce that you and Bear were talking about, leh!
To be fair, I don't think that was the best place to head to for Souvlavki so I'm going to try the proper Souvlavki place Bear recommended that's in town and near Chinatown.
Wah leeeeew(d)!! Which area of town were you in, man? Sounds so... kinky like that! Is the blue neon lights district the equivalent of the more commonly-known red light district? You can don't pai seh and tell us one!Originally posted by kopiosatu:ehhhhh i remember mine was at a shop with blue neon lights.
more like a restaurant.
Well, the same guy who first coined the term to our press, his daughter is also a "quitter" anyways. Married an ang moh, settled down overseas and had his kids no less. So much for "pah si buay zao"Originally posted by Rhonda:
Well, I must say that there doesn't seem to be any negative implications from being a 'quitter' thus far!

Of course I am right ....mwahahaOriginally posted by Rhonda:Hellooooooo, you Club 30 folks! How are you? I've missed all of you tremendously!!
I still don't have my own PC yet. I've missed being online and decided to visit the library at the hospital to access the internet. Can you imagine, it's been five weeks since I've left... and I've survived without a PC and the internet!
I know quite a few of you are anxious to know this quitter's report, as MG put it in my last thread before I left SG. Bottom line, I LOVE IT!!
Any regrets?
YES... I should have left for Melbourne sooner!!
fymk's right, Melbourne is cosmopolitan and very easy to love! I haven't felt homesick badly since arriving because I can find most of the food that I love in restaurants here, and if I can't, it's amazing what I found in the various Asian grocery shops here! My first weekend in town, I went to look for CHOYA and whaddaya know, found it sitting snugly in the shelves in an Asian grocery shop in Chinatown! I didn't buy it then cause I had to 'conserve resources' but soon, I shall!
During this time, I've settled in at work, and also managed to find myself a bright and lovely one-bedroom apartment within walking distance to my workplace. I love my apartment - it's quiet, has some form of security, is near the tram stops and town, the shops and a neighbourhood mall. It's also near an Asian enclave where there are tons of Asian restaurants, grocery shops, butchers and seafood mongers and on Saturdays, there's an open-air farmers' market nearby too!
I'm snug as a bug in my cozy apartment cause I managed to furnish it during the great mid-year sales here and I managed to get some pretty good bargains on electrical appliances and furnishings. Guess I'll only be able to show all of you photos only when I have my own PC, which should be before the end of the year.
Besides working and doing up my place and eating, I've been... SHOPPING!! I've got lovely winter coats now, most of them with faux fur trim (cause I just love 'em!), all of them great bargains too! I've found quite a few bookstores here, including Borders. What can we do without books? I still think the Borders and Kino back home are larger with a much wider selection of titles, though.
Other than books, I've been spending my shopping time in the department stores here - Target, K-mart, Myers, and other stores like Ikea, Harvey Norman, and the large supermart, Coles. I've been having FUN!
I've got so many stories to tell... but I shall leave them all to another day when I access the internet again. Till then, thanks to those of you who left good wishes for me! I do miss all of you!
Take care, everyone! No worries!
I enjoyed the peaceful part in Perth but.. it was REALLY SUPER SLOW. I can't imagine wanting to LIVE there. However, Melbourne wld be a different story.Originally posted by av98m:I really enjoyed my stay in Perth. Precisely because it was so quiet and peaceful and slow.
Say, I had fun riding the camels at the camel farm while I was there.
Well, Melbourne is coming to us first in the form of Subarugirl.Originally posted by Gackt247:We should have a Club 30 Melbourne Trip.
