And oh, I bought my first bottle of CHOYA liao! Haven't even opened it yet because I'm waiting for a special occasion to do so! I'm going to travel back to town again soon and lug home those big bottles of Pokka drinks from one of the big asian grocery shops in Chinatown so I can make my CHOYA cocktails!
It's funny... you know, not having eaten greasy, lard-laden food for what... two months already, last week when I discovered this 'Singapore Chom Chom' restaurant in town and ate Bak Chor Mee, the greasiness didn't agree with my stomach, man! 2nd day I returned to eat Char Kway Teow, same thing happened! But 3rd day when I went to eat Laksa, not so bad liao! I think I must now and then tuck into 'wholesome comfort food' so that when I return early next year and feast with you guys, I can tahan the greasy makan!

That's the thing I can't understandOriginally posted by Rhonda:Tamade... felt like going shopping but then suddenly remembered that most shops in the neighbourhood mall close at 5:30 or 6:30pm. So many times I've just warmed up to my shopping only to find that they're all closing liao!
And oh, it gets dark by 5 or 5:30pm nowadays.
Hanor! Hanor!!Originally posted by elindra:That's the thing I can't understand

BTW, I think I prefer Criminal Minds to CSI

Thank you Rhonda for alerting me to the Myer sale... and oh, while you're in Myer don't forget to apply for the Myer One card (free application & this is not a credit card but more like a loyalty card kinda thing) so you can get privileges like exclusive shopping days for card holders.
Oh, you should get this book called 'Melbourne & surrounds: a discovery guide' with photography done by Steve Parish (famous photographer in Aus); the piccys are breathtaking and the info in the book are excellent for someone who's just moved to Melbourne & wanting to know more about what interesting places there are to visit! Hubby & I were just discussing cost of food in Singapore vs. Sydney, both when eating out or buying groceries. We find that whilst eating out is more exp. in Sydney, buying your own groceries & cooking turns out to be much cheaper than if you were to do so in Sg! I guess it's cos Sg exports so much of its groceries, that it's more expensive in the long run to cook!Originally posted by Rhonda:You people in Singapore, appreciate your kopitiams and food courts and Swenson's and Fish & Co, and Secret Recipe, etc etc, ok! Eating out is costly here (although the portions are much larger).
On the plus side, I love my little kitchen so much that I've been cooking and bringing food to work for my dinner as often as I can.
Whilst there are still places here where you can get a slice of pizza for just $1.50, it's not the same as the lovely and very cheap food you all get there!
