OK, how about software compatibility?
I remember when I used to choose the different components to assemble into my very own system, compatibility can be a problem and a very irritating one. Forced me to have to learn how to access whatchamacallit files at the basic level just to set things right, and had to beg for a lot of help to set things straight too!
I kinda don't look forward to that... just want a nice, good system that works well with no problems. -
yah.. even if you go to simlim these days to put together a powerful computer, part of the price will be original xp..
it's even more in australia..
they do not want to lose their trading license...
anyway, here's the thing with windoze.. it's been 5 years since the release of XP... they're still finding "critical faults" and still patching it..
you can have the greatest specs on your PC ever, but it's still hampered buy crap OS...
but for a normal user, don't go with stuff like Dell or HP... they sell crap...
fix your own.. or if you want a notebook, go look up the lesser-known brands (which are well-known by people who know) like Asus which make kick-ass notebooks...

ever hear of people who buy a nice PC and it won't run Warcraft?
it happens...
no matter what, it'll happen..
so choose.. you get a nice-looking dell with crap inside, and a crappy OS..
or you choose a good bit put together by a bunch of TECH GEEKS which do this for their hobby after their work is done in the office doing the same thing!
anyway, it'll never even get anywhere close to A$5,999

In fact, I missed my Evanescence CD soooo much that I just HAD to hop on a tram and make a trip to town just to get that!
Best of all, the video of their live concert + CD special pack was only A$9.99! And, on top of that, their first release was also hunted down for just A$9.99 too!
I never knew I could miss a CD THAT much!

The live concert + cd set is a great value. I think my neighbours really hate it because I will blast it at least once a week on my stereo
Amy Lee and her band are great, and she sings in perfect pitch all the time(evident when you listen to the live recording), which is not easy, especially considering the genre she sings. -
Take the bear's advice. My PC was put together using the same approach and its a real powerhorse and looks good too. (although it looks like an ah beng pc because I use those fans with leds). THat's the luggage allowance I got and I think my luggage ended up weighing 34 kgs but because I had emailed in advance requesting for extra luggage allowance, I wasn't penalised for the excess.
Sooo... nope, only managed to squeeze a miserable five CD's into my luggage.
