besides, I can pitch a fly only tent faster than tying a hammock .......
but I'm in lust with my new stove ! ... I experimented with a shot of whiskey into the fuel bottle, and it burns ! ... -

backpack seems not able to contain much stuff compare to luggage bag.
Have a couple of deuters, seldom use. I m not into trekking, so wonder when is the next opportunity to use it

For just your garden-variety day pack, my 30-litre Deuter works just fine. If I do have to go heavy duty, the good old ALICE pack does the job just fine.

My Blackhawk Cyclone has served me very well for several years. A little on the expensive side though, I think I paid $200+ or $300+ for it. But the thing is damned near bulletproof. After some brushing still looks brand new. Has a rigid back, hip belt and sternum strap.

just got back my Northface 75litre back today ... they fixed it inhouse, so it was free ...
I'm going for the arcteryx in black, and it'll still be some weeks before I get it.
Meantime, I'm going to load up my trusty old northface with my sleeping bag and tent, to go for some Mclobsters out east ! ... -

but here's what I use for water treatment .... saves you from having to lug a monster jerrycan at the bottom of your backpack ...

Finally, found a filter at a outdoorsy camp shop at that road leading up to stamford house...
It can be used on most bicycle water bottle and is priced below $30/-
Anyone can reveal how good it is?
