Ermmm I tot things in america here are expensive?? Though of buying gifts for my friends also dun know what to buy...Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:So true, so true! However, I find that--at least here in the US--everyday essentials like food and clothing are less expensive than in Singapore, with a far larger selection from which to choose. I assume it is that way too in Australia.
It has a lot to do with where in the US you're at. Take where I live for example, this is the 11th most expensive city in the States.Originally posted by SpeedStar:Ermmm I tot things in america here are expensive?? Though of buying gifts for my friends also dun know what to buy...
But my state is not in the 11th and is alredy so expensive. Maybe I will just bring some potatoes for my friend...Originally posted by jetta:It has a lot to do with where in the US you're at. Take where I live for example, this is the 11th most expensive city in the States.

Sometimes, at the end of evening shifts, when I'm frustrated, tired and what-not, I will drop by the neighbourhood McD's on the way home and grab some fried gandang sticks.Originally posted by Fatum:gantang are not good for you ... especially if they are fried ....

Try soggy hash browns. The fucking Clementi McDonalds actually managed to serve me soggy hash browns at 7am in the morning. You'd think they must taste best early in the morning. I accused them of giving me yesterday's leftovers and made them give me another one, hot and crisp this time.Originally posted by Rhonda:Biangz! Nothing worse than soggy fries! Bleah!
Well, one night, after a particularly bad shift, I dropped by and bought a small serving of fries, and immediately regretted not having the large because that day, it was so nicely done! Nice, hot and crisp! So I walked home in the cold winter's night humming to myself and chucking all those fries in one-by-one, enjoying their crispness!
Siiiigh... sometimes, good stuff don't need to be expensive!
Well you do know that meat, e.g. dead cow these days are sources of carcinogens as well? Regardless of how they are cooked? After all the growth hormones, chemicals etc you are looking at a carcinogen cocktail even before you cook your beefOriginally posted by Fatum:read somewhere before that gantangs prepared at high temperatures (read: fried as fries and chips etc) contains something that's actually carcinogenic ...
they are fine boiled and mashed etc ....
I've been avoiding chips and fries ever since ...
