How good is the Intel Viiv technology?

  This is something new to me and since I'm reading up before I purchase my computer here, I just want to tap into your combined experience and wisdom on this matter.
  
  THis is what I've read :
  
  Intel® Viiv® Technology
  ViivTM technology combines Pentium® D processors with the Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005 operating system to help manage, share and enhance multimedia entertainment.
  
  I'm concerned about issues like hanging, bugs, etc. What is your experience with this Intel Viiv?

  seriously.. i look at it this way.. xp has been released for 5 years already and they're still patching it... what does that say?
  
  btw, Apple Mac Mini with Core Duo chips are very cheap these days..

  in the future as opposed to getting a PC and it is problematic from the moment i buy it
  
  btw, seriously, go look at the Mac Mini.. it could end up being cheaper than a windoze PC...
