The caring role is something we often take for granted. When a family member falls ill or has an ailment or disability, their loved ones naturally becomes their caregivers, taking care of them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or sometimes for years. The caregiver provides not only the physical care, but also the emotional support which is so critical at such times. Caregivers are unsung heroes. Their efforts have allowed their dependents to continue living at home in familiar settings. Most of them struggle to balance family responsibility of being a spouse, parent, sibling as well as a caregiver. Some have to balance work with caregiving.
