Grocery-Shopping!

I'm just wondering how many of you out there are fond of grocery shopping?
It doesn't matter if you shop at the supermarts or at the wet markets, as long as you're out hunting for the freshest produce, the freshest yields from the sea, the choicest cut of meat, the chicken that's the most plump and the fruits that are at their seasonal best, you're into grocery shopping!
I ask this because I realised that the time (and money) I spend in Cole's, a large chain of supermart here, as well as the fervour with which I attend the Richmond Market every Saturday, makes me an avid grocery shopper!
Not to mention, I get so happy when my friend invites me on a car ride to either the Queen Victoria Market or Boxhill!
So, this thread is dedicated to those of us who are perpetually in search of stuff for the kitchen and larder / pantry. I guess that includes those of us who are forever searching for new snacks, tit-bits and cookies to squirrel into our workplace cubicle drawers or lockers as well!

One quick thought : You know that you're a hopeless grocery shopper (fanatic, rather!) when you see a display of fresh, nicely scrubbed potatoes, and you think, "Nudie Potatoes!"
OR
You see a peeled Mandarin for customers to sample before buying and you think, "The Mandarin has been stripped and violated!"
OR
...(and this gets seriously weird!)...
You see a bunch of delicate baby carrots freshly pulled out of the soil and bunched up together for sale and you think, "An Orgy of Carrots".
OK, OK, I shall stop!

i can spend HOURS in supermarkets!!!!
i walk down every single aisle!!!!
and everytime im at carrefour in singapore, i spend over at least $100 on food stuff alone 
cos my family is always buying new stuff to try.
and buying new stuff for new recipes
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE GROCERY SHOPPING!!!
in fact its the ONLY type of shopping i like
its the only time where you wont find me 'shopping like a guy (know what you want, go in, grab, leave)'
oh yeah...in torlongto, there is this market called St. Lawrence market and i go there every saturday whenever im there with my grandpa
and COSTCO!

omg, udontknowme, I certainly do have to get to know you when I return to Singapore for a visit! Make sure you turn up for our Club 30 outings then! I'm talking about 1st Quarter next year so make sure you pluck up your courage and turn up, okie?

my favourite siaa!! dun care where i go laa... jason's in raffles city or ntuc in bukit timah or shop n save at causeway point...i can just walk around and around and around looking for the best stuffs and value for money!! -

i dont think i'll be back until next summer earliest in fact
cos i have to earn my own $$ and buy my own ticket back to singapore...
so find a summer (or winter for you) and fly back then instead!!
or you can organize an SO outing and all travel to north america instead -

But then again, Cole's doesn't just sell groceries! There are toiletries and household goods and etc etc too!
Heck, they even sell sleepwear and socks and undergarments and gardening implements too! -

He doesn't have to like to shop but similar tastes in food would be good so you can finish the stuff before expiry date LOL

Me! I love those ang moh type supermarkets like Jasons or Liberty cos they have alot item ntuc dun have de...I like putting whatever i like into the trolley, then later all dun want

cos im too lazy to look up which bus goes where and what time
so i end up walking 20 minutes to town and 20 minutes back -
in melbourne you can walk to alto of places. its fun and its good exercise

Both me and the hubby loves to grocery/market shop... if bo dai ji to do, we go supermarket walk around, and i have a system one.. I MUST WALK DOWN EVERY SINGLE AISLE... i do NOT aisle hop.. I will go up one aisle... go down the other.... up.... down...
The Hubby would spend more time in fruits and veg session.. he will spend HOURS.. (ok i am exaggerating)... selecting fruits and veg... and glare at some aunties who attempt to teach him how to select (like look down on him u know.. man... cannot select fruits... )
I dont think I can b with a man who doesnt like to grocery shop leh. Looking back, that is prbably why any rship that failed.. failed. Cos he didnt like to grocery shop. -sniff- good riddance. -
I love to shop supermarket .. juz dump watever into the trolley ..
