Cold Storage has always been a better place to shopOriginally posted by av98m:I LOVE LOVE LOVE Grocery shopping.
But I hate most of my fellow shoppers.
I get around that by shopping at places like Cold Storage (Great World City) because the aisles are much wider and you can have 2 shoping carts moving side by side without any problems. The NTUCs are too narrow, too crowded, and I do not like the people that tend to shop there. (rude parents, screaming children, cranky aunties and old ladies etc)
It's true...I read a long time ago that some study has shown that grocery shopping is relaxing, esp after a hard day's work....something to do with being non-taxing on the mind.Originally posted by Fatum:it's therapy ! ...
heee .... I'm a pack rat, so I don't really care about the load ...Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:Actually.. hruhru Fatum would probably identify w this.. I love to look for things suitable for me to go camping with. Dehydrated foods, instant mixes.. etc etc that can make the meals tastier would giving me undue load....
Also liek to see bakign stuff.
It depends on where you shop. I get aisle rage if I'm at NTUCOriginally posted by Wanda:It's true...I read a long time ago that some study has shown that grocery shopping is relaxing, esp after a hard day's work....something to do with being non-taxing on the mind.
Sigh... tell me about it... yesterday, no choice, I had to walk for two hours straight! I needed to drop something off at someone's house 'in the neighbourhood', which turned out to be soooooooooooooooooo darn faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away! On the map, it always looks like 'a hop and a skip' away, but yeah, try walking the actual distance!Originally posted by hisoka:in melbourne you can walk to alto of places. its fun and its good exercise

The Hubby would spend more time in fruits and veg session.. he will spend HOURS.. (ok i am exaggerating)... selecting fruits and veg... and glare at some aunties who attempt to teach him how to select (like look down on him u know.. man... cannot select fruits... )
I dont think I can b with a man who doesnt like to grocery shop leh. Looking back, that is prbably why any rship that failed.. failed. Cos he didnt like to grocery shop. -sniff- good riddance.
Dont you pack for your morning snack or lunch?Originally posted by Rhonda:I wish that supermarts were more 'singles-friendly', ie. I want to be able to buy just ONE Four N Twenty pie (yes, I've 'discovered' it and LOVE it!), five fish fingers, two 'dimsims' and a handful of frozen fries without having to buy huge huge family portions that I end up having to finish up before it expires and then growing fat fat fat on them!
Or... get me a man who will help me ensure that my fridge is always rid of food before expiry dates! I need to 'employ' a Quality Control Officer... for the stock in my fridge and pantry! Waaaah harharharhahahaha!!
Oh yes!!! Larger, much larger, and the selection! Oooooh, the selection!!Originally posted by jetta:Me!!!!! Armed with my stash of coupons too. (Hi-5s streamie) I visit several markets for different items. Eg, one for meats, another for greens and of course the Chinese and Filipino markets for Asian must-haves. As soon as you enter the Asian supermarkets, wham! the smell hits you.
Have to say that shopping here is more pleasant than in Singapore. It never gets crazy-crowded like it does in Sg, the aisles are way wider and the selection is immense. Prices, well... you win some, you lose some.
