it's not that lah ... I mean ... it's like some people buying and keeping their mortar board and graduation gown eh ? ...Originally posted by choco B:Why would you assume your girl would want to keep her wedding gown?
Or issit your fantasy? LOL *ahem

You still owe them tea ceremony?Originally posted by elindra:Anyway, mum knows best and she knows how ugly the situation will turn into once I lose my head and I won't look back once I make that decision That was how she quelled the protests from relatives about me marrying a non-chinese too
Right now, I'm waiting for them to forget about the tea ceremony and what other nonsense.
Actually I owe them tea ceremony and wedding pics...as in studio pics with wedding gown etc which I didn't think necessaryOriginally posted by av98m:You still owe them tea ceremony?
If I were you no relatives wil be invited, since they feel that way. The fuckers will have no say in how I run my life.
I hate relatives.
If I ever get married......I'm going to do it the Lee Kuan Yew way. Get married secretly without telling my parents

hmmm .... 25 tables ... that works out to around ? ..... 250 guests ? ...
70 tables??!!! *gasp*Originally posted by JLennon:Hey I did almost the same thing too.
Had a western-styled dinner in Equinox with close relatives and friends with a JP marrying us. Next day had the traditional dinner in the ballroom with about 70 tables iirc. Busted a hole in the pocket as angpaos didn't quite cover all costs.
My advice: buy a gown/dinner dress overseas. MUCH cheaper than renting one in Sg! I got my dinner dress for $90 in Australia, and still able to use it for other functions in future!Originally posted by Fatum:just wondering ....
how much does a wedding gown cost to buy ah ? ....
I know tuxs are cheaper than gowns of course ...
so how much roughly ? ....
Well, if my future Mrs AV wants the full package ceromonies blah blah including dressing up like a princess, I'm not going to stop herOriginally posted by elindra:Actually I owe them tea ceremony and wedding pics...as in studio pics with wedding gown etc which I didn't think necessary
I know alot of girls dream of this day where to dress up like a princess but it was never my dream before because I think it's too much of a bother
I dunno getting married to me was like just formalising things. I didn't feel the excitment that my friends did like Oooo I'm getting married and that I get to wear this and that and have this and that? I guess the transition was just too natural to feel any excitment?
Anyway it didn't go as I wanted so maybe that is why I didn't feel the excitment
However, personally I am one who does not enjoy things like ceremonies etc so maybe. If my parents didn't force me to go to my graduation ceremony, I wouldn't have turned up
