You know without that lazy drawl If we speak at the speed we do with each other, they won't understand. I have to kinda adopt their accent a little (not that I do that well! ) and speak slowly and emphasise every word so they will comprehend. Man, I bore myself to sleep sometimes when I have to speak THAT slowly to them!

Really?? People in Melbourne speak so slowly ah? She could have saved the trouble and simply tatooed one word "Jian" which is chinese, could have meant 'Cheap' or 'Slutty' or 'biatchy'.
I was thinking she should have simply tattooed the word 'Er' which means nasty or fierce.
and im from melbourne but im in toronto, and when i was back in melb i tell ppl i dont like aussie football they think im crazy. but sorry its just dun like it. soccer is real football! -

RHONDA. sports is very integrated into the culture here! esp rugby league and australian rules football. therefore it is important to support a team. ive been living in perth for a few years now, and i support West Coast EAGLES! yeeeha.

Premier is not asian - he's 4th generation aussie-Lebanese. John So is the Mayor of Melbourne and yes he is the guy with the funny accent. South Australia has a chinese senator I think- Penny Wong or something
I remember in Sydney I met a scot who was chatting to me. He then asked me the usual question: where are you from. I said "Singapore" . He said "I love Tiannamen square. I was like huh?" . He was like aren't you from china. I said to him ( it pissed him off majorly) : " If Singapore is in China, Scotland must really be part of India." He was like "WHAT?" . I said "go home and look at your map- Singapore is definitely not in China ". -

"Well, you can speak Chinese, right?"
"Yeah! Why?"
"So, you're from China?"
"No!! I'm from Singapore!"
"But you're Chinese, right?"
"Yup! I'm a Singaporean Chinese."
"Well, but you're still Chinese, right?"
"Yeah. But I don't come from China."
"But your ancestors do, right?"
"Yeah!"
"So it's the same!"
(Me starting to get really annoyed! So apparently 'bimbo' is not gender-specific and is not limited to hair colour either! )

Somehow, I get the feeling though, that there'll be quite a few peeps here who still wouldn't be able to grasp your logical trend of argument because, well, I've come to realise that although the sun shines extremely brightly here, not all peeps here are as bright! -
I have resorted to mentioning that I am from the regions of Indonesia.
When I mention Malaysia, some people drew a blank.
When I mentioned Thailand, some people give me that look that i am a prostitute. Sigh.
