MG, since you'll be travelling, here's some useful information. The local rag had a story today entitled: You may not get your money's worth abroad. US$100 bills with John Snow's siggy on it are worth more than the same with Robert Rubin's siggy. Old bills aren't worth as much as new ones.

Thanks for the information about the currency exchange. Fortunately, I shan't be bringing any US bills with me to SG, as I've already purchased some SG currency from the local bank, and shall be relying on my credit card for any purchases in SG. My regular ATM card can also be used to withdraw SG cash from the ATMs there, but at a somewhat disadvantageous exchange rate. -
Yah, our US ATM card also comes with that nice feature which I only use in absolute emergencies. We're lucky enough to be able to get much better exchange rates at the base in Sembawang. it is.. if it contains codeine, it is considered a Schedule 3 poison... not to be used unless prescribed by a doctor...
