  hai.. until upgrading.. i do not SIT on the throne.. i belong to the humble squatting pan community.
  
  Having said tt.. it does not deter me from reading. Reading and looking at my cat looking at me.
  
  My cat has an inordinate curiosity about what I do there.

  1. it's the natural position to take a dump
  2. squatting prevents you from wasting too much time on the throne
  3. ass cheeks are parted, you're able to clean the orifice exit much better
  
  but they cannot be found in Canada .... I have yet to come across one ...

  Then you'll have to improvise by squatting atop the toilet with both feet on the seat cover.

  I appreciate the details you've gone into in your reply.
  
  It's really difficult to get used to a squatting pan if you have not, or have not been recently, to one. The weight distribution in that position is not easy, your butts takes care of gravity and you've got to sort of curl up in order to balance. Keeping feet FLAT planted on the ground helps as well.
  
  But public squatting pans are great cos they are MUCH more hygienic leh.
  
  Definitely needs instructions to use one if people have never used it before.
