Not really. If their albums can't sell, they can't survive in the industry. End of the day, they go back to their previous job or something else. No la, I meant singing as a hobby or for those who really really like it. Even if I don't pay you to do it, you still will go KTV to sing to your heart's content right? On the flip side, the hobby might become work once they start selling short and the record company starts adding pressure. Then it will be more like the scenario you described -

a job to me is
.... stability to aim for my dreams
.... some thing to occupy myself from 9 to 7 some times till 2am
.... a way to keep my mind fresh and in contant a learning environment
.... a place where i get away from the maddness of inter-friends drama and in-game politics
.... a title to give when people ask "so wat ya doing now"
