  I'm thinking of reserving an apartment at Royal Lily Apartments...

  oh i love it there!!!.. i've been there.. hmmm.. twice in the last 2 years and going the third time.. its great..
  
  i think you'd love it... seeing you like to go Farm Mart and all... its all agricultural, lots of greens every where, cute little cactuses, and shop for vegetables that are so fresh and sweet... its like farm mart heaven!
  
  But this time I am booking a new apartment and I'm not too sure how good is it.. so thought I'd try my luck and ask around here

  I've never been there before but I was just telling my friend that when I return to Singapore early next year, I wanna plan a trip there because I've always wanted to go there!
  
  BTW, where's the 'best' place to stay there? Recommendations, anyone?

  Heehee I'm already 'booked' to plan another trip in 2007.. this time for my husband's family+extended family!!
  
  But will collect all the information if you would like to go
  
  If more people stay in apartment is better.
  
  Previously I used to rent coach. This time I am driving up.. 2 cars... so will let you know pros and cons too!

  Was there last year, if u looking for nice quite getaway not too bad. But its monsoon season now, I wouldn't recomend driving there until the rain receeds a little.

  Somehow I always go to cameron highlands during this time of the year. Will be driving via the IPOH simpang pulai new road... heard it is much safer

  went there few years back
  
  more quiet than genting n nicer
  nice big strawberries
  green veggies..
  cool up there
  
  but going up is worst than going up genting

  Getting there is much easier... (which isnt a good thing because if TOO many people go there, it loses its charm)
  
  Now there are direct coaches from Singapore (check out konsortium) though return trip you still got to stop over at KL
  
  Alternative, you can drive up to IPOH and use the new road which is a lot more straightforward. though a couple of hours further. But hey, you arrive not vomiting - so that's a good deal.
  
  What things to see and do there there...my favourites are
  
  - Nuah at one of those naan shops and have my breakfast, teh and thosai
  - Visit cactus valley and look at all the cute plants.. maybe buy some... pots too
  - Visit Kea Farm and look at all the nature produce.. uhh pots.. err more plants..
  - Go to Tea Plantation and NUAH there
  - Go to Tea plantation and walk around
  - Eat steamboat
  - Eat strawberries and cream
  - Eat Scones and Tea
  - Go to Pasar Malam and buy fantastically fresh vegetables for a salad
  - And the GIANT CORN that tastes great without cooking
  - AND all the crap junk pasar malam food like deep fried cempedak (ooh)
  - If you can, take a guided trek, visit orang asli village, and maybe a couple of smaller waterfalls
  - Just NUAH bring indoor games and play w ur friends
