had a friend who majored in russian and slavic languages and who went over to russia for exchange ....Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:ya the hubby agrees w me tt we're going to stay in 3 room flat till kid grows much older too. smaller space - kids dont develop the habit of hiding in own room and not talking to parents. They learn to get along with siblings better too.
Err btw.. we dont have kids yet lah. I'm trying to fit the kids in somewhere between and after diploma course/trans-siberian trip/menopause.
i wanna have at least 10k stashed away before i try to get preggy...Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:slowly plan and save loh.. u still very young so time is on ur side what. No hurry.
But I believe that if people really don't want kids, nobody should pressure them to have any. You should only have kids if you want to.

she says it's pretty dangerous for "visible minorities" over there now, there's so much blatant racism and hate crime it's not even funny .... they'll knife and batter you just cos you're not white ... and it's so common it's not even news anymore ...
it's not like in oz or canada where they'll just call you names or what not ... you pay with your life ....
forget about the trans-siberian trip ... the romance in russia is long gone ...
but that's the thing ! ... when did such things become compulsory ?!! ....Originally posted by the_don:i think life is tough in sg. cos u wanna have a kid, ur kid will have to compete with other KS parents. so u send them to music class, ballet class, etc. i tink i'll just adopt a dog

cos of health problemsOriginally posted by ShrodingersCat:why kids must be born before mama turns 28?
Nowadays medical science and all, women can give birth later ba.
It is ideal of course if you can find the perfect place to stay till you die - but I guess for me and hubby, our decision is to get as little debt as possible. We don't want to tie up our cash or CPF - at that time I was also not working and contemplating mid-career switch. So well, lots of people live and die in 3 rooms flats too ma Of course we still hope one day we will have small house by the beach - but hurhurhurhurhuhur.. see how lah! mebbe win toto!
In Singapore, society expects everyone to perform to schedule. This age, graduate. This age, Married. This age, get flat. This age, Get kids. It's so mechanical. Even number of times have sex in a week also under scrutiny. Bloody hell lah.

If I had married younger, I would prefer to get the kids over and done with too More energy to keep up with them and more time for myself when they are grown up earlier. Your mom is lucky!
