you don't have to bring up a pressure cooker kid you know ...

there used to be a MOS there with lots of hot japanese backpackers ... but I hear it's now closed ...
wah u went to an elitist sch is it?Originally posted by the_don:it's not compulsory but it will benefit the kid.
i am a product of parents who dun send kids to these classes. i grew up fine, very notti when young but i still grew up to be an okie adult.
but the memories of being picked on by my music teacher just because i cannot side-read (aka read the tao gay) is not pleasant at all. every gal in my class was learning some form of music - piano, volin, etc. damn teacher made me feel "lesser" just because i can't side-read.
okie time for meeting
i like to travel cheap but dont really buy into the backpacker culture.Originally posted by Fatum:when I go play in bangkok, which was pretty often a few years ago ... I'd stick to khao san road ...

My SO and I had very different educational backgrounds
He went to a PAP kindergarden and neighbourhood primary school etc and took no lessons and played all day
I went to yahama music school for kindergarden, had music, swimming, art, speech and drama, dancing lessons and played all day too. Primary school taught english n mandarin as 1st language passing mark was 60% not 50%
But I didn't think it was a pressure cooker and I enjoyed my childhood
I played alot and watched alot of TV too. Maybe not as much play as my SO but I still think it's alot of play
I think alot of kids had music lessons lorOriginally posted by shinta:everybody in class noes how to sight read mah.. so i tot she went to an elitist sch where u get teased for not knowing how to...
noticed I mentioned the "old" khao san road ? ....Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:i like to travel cheap but dont really buy into the backpacker culture.
Antisocial and all...
Find tt Khao San (hip and cool as it is) is really another mark that the occidental backpackers leave on the countries they invade.
Its quite sad really. It's like when I went to Dali, China many many years ago... and in the midst of beautiful ancient huts and lovely mountains, there was a rowdy backpacker enclave full of beer guzzling europeans.. many who stay there long term cos they had this 'weed biscuit' thingy tt was going real cheap.
not so for my primary sch..Originally posted by elindra:I think alot of kids had music lessons lor
