Hot water. Boil lor.Originally posted by Wanda:Erm...is the big pail of water hot/warm?
I shd tell u that I am a mosquito magnet.
Oh, perhaps if I can learn to ride the motor bike....that's something I may want to do.
I've always thought swimming in the sea is a very bad idea. I still do. Even an olympic swimmer will not be able to fight strong currents unaided.Originally posted by Wanda:So the idea is to get certified before gg for the trip?
The last time I went Phuket, I didn't even swim in the sea....dunno why...it just wasn't conducive somehow...maybe too much cold wind?
no molesting of jellyfish!Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:i recommend the kayaking at krabi suggestion by Fatum too
damn nice.. u can try to pat the big pink jellyfishes on the head with ur oar.
hurhurhuhur
hmmm...not a bad idea....btw, how challenging are the dive sites? I'm going to suggest that we avoid those with strong surface currents because we are all rusty, and some will be newly certified on top of it. I'm thinking relatively shallow and calm sites, with good visibility.Originally posted by Fatum:how about 10 days ? .... cos a live on board would take at least 4 days 3 nights already ...
or the diving contingent can arrive earlier for a live-on-board and then meet the main body for a week of mayhem ? ...
sure ... but we're not thinking of diving at phuket ... but Mergui Archipelago in Burma ...Originally posted by red_amoeba:can I join? Me & wifey keen leh. Very long time neber go diving liaoz...& I neber had chance to dive at Phuket...
And its fun going in a group...
there are a few places comparable to Rainer's Rock at aur, oceanic outcrops, but the rest would be pretty sheltered, cos it's an archipelago, I'll have to find out more ...Originally posted by av98m:hmmm...not a bad idea....btw, how challenging are the dive sites? Oh, and the rusty ones, including myself please at the very least go do a proper refresher before the trip. And learn how to deploy a safety sausage properly (everybody should have one, even better if you stencil your name onto the safety sausage), if you don't already know how to.
I know I'm nagging, but I'm quite anal about safety issues (and I will nag a lot more during the trip)
After 2 seasons of inactivity, I'm back to newbie status liaoOriginally posted by Fatum:there are a few places comparable to Rainer's Rock at aur, oceanic outcrops, but the rest would be pretty sheltered, cos it's an archipelago, I'll have to find out more ...
I have a sausage that's part of my standard kit, but yeah, if we're to visit some of the deeper sites or night dives the newbies won't be able to follow ... I'd highly recommend that they take it all the way to advanced first.
oh, thats cool...is it gonna be LOB? Or moving out from somewhere?Originally posted by Fatum:sure ... but we're not thinking of diving at phuket ... but Mergui Archipelago in Burma ...
I'm going to badger my friend for his lobang ... a LOB staging out of chalong probably ...Originally posted by red_amoeba:oh, thats cool...is it gonna be LOB? Or moving out from somewhere?

I once spotted this Turkish restaurant at Suntec. It's called DeliTurk, I think.Originally posted by the Bear:i figured i better put up this topic so we can haggle for the next 9 to 10 months
takes us forever to get together for a makan session, this one will take that time
btw, next makan session, the vicious one coming back soon.. and then going off just as quickly.. so quick quick.. where? when?
i'm thinking Carnivore or Brasil Churrascaria
