Which is why I insist that mask, snorkel, fins are essential if you want to even jump into the sea. (if you wonder why fins are essential....well, try paddling a boat with your hands instead of the oars ) -
i recommend the kayaking at krabi suggestion by Fatum too
damn nice.. u can try to pat the big pink jellyfishes on the head with ur oar.

can I join? Me & wifey keen leh. Very long time neber go diving liaoz...& I neber had chance to dive at Phuket...
And its fun going in a group... -
how about 10 days ? .... cos a live on board would take at least 4 days 3 nights already ...
or the diving contingent can arrive earlier for a live-on-board and then meet the main body for a week of mayhem ? ... -
hmmm...not a bad idea....btw, how challenging are the dive sites? I'm going to suggest that we avoid those with strong surface currents because we are all rusty, and some will be newly certified on top of it. Oh, and the rusty ones, including myself please at the very least go do a proper refresher before the trip. And learn how to deploy a safety sausage properly (everybody should have one, even better if you stencil your name onto the safety sausage), if you don't already know how to.
I know I'm nagging, but I'm quite anal about safety issues (and I will nag a lot more during the trip) -

I have a sausage that's part of my standard kit, but yeah, if we're to visit some of the deeper sites or night dives the newbies won't be able to follow ... I'd highly recommend that they take it all the way to advanced first. -
