True Service - Something I read today

i've moved the Wet Floor sign to carpeted areas before

but in this case according to piere its 10 each time and he does the wrapping himself. so he could either do it in 7 seperate attempts and waste every one's time ( since it doesn't matter which counter he goes to, time will be wasted in paying and packaging whatever and other customers held up) or they could just give him the 70 wrappers straight and save the time and effort of the mulitple attempts and he will get done wrapping faster too i'm guessing.
and elindra, i;m not even sure where it is. i just read his comments and commented. he did say each time.
i know the rationale for the limiting of course. -

and yes the announcements are annoying, lets all do that at the mrt stations -
there is a matter of "Setting precedence"
a colleague, who has been working for an ice age, is going to retire in 3 years' time.. has been unquestioningly doing what he has been told for his whole career..
so today, it is his day off.. there are some VIPs coming and without even consulting him, his day off has been cancelled and he is to come back to the office and do the work for the VIPs...
the job can be done by others..
also, he is currently doing 2 other people's jobs because they resigned (some say it is because of him.. there is no way they can do what he is doing because he has no life other than work) he comes in really early, around 7am, opens everything up even though others are rostered to do it... and he leaves each evening around 9pm switching off everything.. sundays he comes in to do work...
the bosses don't care because.. they don't care... he's getting the job done...
but then, now he's doing 3 people's jobs.. and has been doing it for the past 2 to 3 months.. the bosses don't even bother to replace those who have left.. the rest of the section take him for granted and those who are rostered to open up the section don't even care to turn up and those who are rostered to switch everything off late each day just go home...
it has "become his duty" to do all that additional things...
he complains to us and we have little pity for him.. he doesn't tell anyone, he accepts all this without question.. setting precedences, causing people to be unhappy and it is killing him..
i think he doesn't want to tell us but his children and him are pretty estranged.. since all his life and probably all their lives, he rarely even talks to them... he spends almost all his time at work
no.. he is NOT providing good service.. he is just screwing everything up for himself, screwing everything up for the section, setting unreasonably levels to be abused...
just because you can, doesn't make it right... that is the long and short of it...
if you seek to take advantage of anything which will be detrimental to others, that says a lot about you, and humanity is diminished a little bit more..
and if you don't understand and cannot relate to any of this long rant, i doubt you will ever... -

There are plenty of such people in my organisation. Not quite as extreme as his case though. -

I think this Piere has a communication problem
Anyway, it makes sense to the store to limit it. It's an additional service and not a customer right and the store set limits so that this service can be extended to more, if not all customers
