Speaking of this, sometimes I second guess myself. In this day and age of terrorism, etc, I get the feeling that what I'm doing is wrong, even though I know it isn't. Call my paranoid but after living in military housing for a decade, I think I am. Did I ever tell you that once I forgot myself? While waiting in the car in front of the ship, waiting to pick the hubby up, I thought that I would snap a picture of the ship for my scrapbook. Wah, seconds after the flash went off, I heard a loud alarm from the ship. By chance, Hubby was right within sight and he told me the alarm indicated the ship's security had been breached. The sentry came up to me and asked me to delete the photo. I had never felt so small until that day.Originally posted by av98m:issit? illegal to take pics of buses and trains?

it's the same all over the world ... last time I was back home in 2005, a couple of army buddies and me drove down to changi village and hendon camp to get a dab of nostalgia ....Originally posted by jetta:Speaking of this, sometimes I second guess myself. So sian you know. I so wanted to snap pics of the base for my scrapbook but that got foiled. To do so, one has to put in paperwork for the base Captain's okay. Grrrr!Originally posted by av98m:yes, unfortunately its the same everywhere.
there was this girl taking a photo of a fire hydrant outside a hospital, across the road from the US embassy in Singapore. the police were alerted by the embassy guards and appeared almost instantaneously to question her
Reminds of the incident at SembawangOriginally posted by av98m:but I've also noticed...that in Singapore, police or security guards will only stop the locals or asians. If you're caucasian you can pretty much take pics almost anywhere.
STOMP sooner or later will fail...Originally posted by fudgester:Oh yeah... even eating cai png on the MRT is news on STOMP.
During my recent trip to Guangzhou, I found out that the police there will stop people from snapping photos in public. It's just plain sickening.
