strangely, i think the no.1 here learnt his the old school way.. he made a remark like that which whizzed over the heads of everyone else.. at least my stuff when i send in my papers are correct to the best of my ability... although my boss will change it and it becomes wrong -

an "organisation" is not human.. it is not even a living thing... as such it has to be treated as an object..
to use 's, the subject has to be human
so, it will have to be "the director of the organisation"
in fact, i would say that when the person is dead, you will have to use "the state of decomposition of the corpse" rather than "the corpse's state of decomposition "...
