Lost Luggage

Have you ever been a victim? *touch wood* In a recent report, they say that lost luggage is on the increase. Why am I not suprised? In my feeble attempts to prevent this from happening to me, I've taken to writing my particulars inside each suitcase, just in case the luggage tag gets ripped off. I also take a photo of the cases, just in case. There is a facility in Alambama or some place in that vicinity that buys lost luggage and sells the contents. It's a huge business. May that never happen to me.

I lost my school bag before.

I haven't had mine lost yet, mainly because I write my particulars, flight number and destination on the luggage tags before checking in.
On my way to Finland, my fellow passenger told me that Heathrow is a notorious place for not finding your luggage on the belt. He usually got his about 3 days after arriving. -

i know many pple who lost luggages at heathrow...
but im damn lucky~~
all these years of travelling and ive NEVER lost ANY luggage before~~~
muahahaha...im reminded of the 'meet the parents' show
i always bring an extra set of clothes in my carry-on bag JUST IN CASE -
We fly alot and I thank Gawd that it's never happened to us. *touch wood* I have to fly again soon and I'm toying with the idea of a)packing super light so everything fits into a carryon or b) UPS'ing (or cheaper equivalent) it to my destination.

All my expensive and important stuff I carry onto the plane. Only clothes ends up being checked in. I try to travel as light as I can.
I was really nevous when I had to fly with my dive gear, and that obviously had to be checked in. Thank goodness it didn't disappear.

my nephew checked in a pistol when he flew back to Florida from California at Christmas time. I thought for sure that would have disappeared but it made it without any problems.

Fortunately, in all the years I've flown, my luggage and I have always arrived at the same destination, at approximately the same time. -
Any other places? What about Manchester? (Thinkng of using the airport there instead)

when me and my wife returned from HK, we realised one of our luggages was missing.
So we went to SIA customer service to make hella of noise. And to our surprise, we found out our luggage was left in HK.
But they managed to deliver the luggage back to us 2 days later.
No compensation or what so ever from SIA...just a word " sorry"
