Getting To Know Him Strategies

let's say a girl wants to get to know a guy better
BUT she isn't sure whether she does like him or not
so doesn't want to give him the impression that she LIKES him
just interested to get to know him more
What strategies can she use to Get to Know Him?
Friends and I were talking about this. We came up with a few cliched, boring ones like
Extra Movie Ticket Strategy
Discuss latest movies with him. Tell him you got extra movie ticket (how hah?). Maybe with small group of friends 'easier' to facilitate conversation.
Badminton Strategy
For sporty girls (needs friends' support)
Tell him one of your friends backed out from a badminton game.. now.. only 3 missing 1. Ask him want to go play or not? -
there's always a brutally to-the-point "hey, wanna hang out?"

I did not have any extra movie ticket...never did. I would just asked him "wanna see a movie?" and we went and he bought the tickets, and I bought the coffee afterwards.
Or do things that interests both - e.g. I went swimming with my SO when we dated, but now we hardly swim.

The Male Opinion Move
• Gal says her so and so guy friend Birthday coming up real soon. Says at wits end, ran out of ideas to buy gifts.
• Gal ask THE MAN solution and if he is free to join her for the hunt.
• Man says... "Why not? I'd bring you to my fav hunt."
• Gal says..."By the way, I heard this restaurant there and there...let's go after our shopping?"

The badminton part hor, no need 3 miss 1. Dats for mahjong. Badminton can be played by 8 ppl in 1 court so juz ask wanna join in or not.
Best is to know what the guy likes then work towards it.
Say: he likes soccer. Doesn't matter which club he likes. IF you like football too (no need so much but enough), then you can ask him can accompany you to those jersey stores so you can find a particular club or country jersey to buy.
Or maybe he likes comics. You ask him to intro you some comics to read loh. Buy or borrow from him, up to you.
Maybe he likes music alot. You get the idea how to go about it.

Hmmm..ok, so my answer is not helpful at all -
i think chatting on the phone then going out for the "old movie trick" is still one of the best around.
of course, don't use the " i got extra tickets and my friend backed out".. just go straight to the point and say "i wana watch this movie".. -

ok, it also depends on how close the 2 parties are to each other.. some are really close friends from way back then to the point of bro/sis rs.. then that one is dinner..
