Decided to post this because we just added 3 tigers into the turtle tank. Free from SO's friend who is giving up his hobby. The ones we have are the cheaper Indonesian Tigers with 1 extra 'bar' or stripe. The ones that are prized are the ones from Thailand with 4 'bars' as shown in the picture.

Common Name : Siamese Tiger Fish
Other Common Names : Finescale tigerfish
Distribution : Asia: Chao Phraya basin, Mekong basin of mainland Southeast Asia, Kapuas basin in western Borneo and Musi basin in Sumatra. Protected in Thailand.
Diet : Will eat goldfish or any thing it can get in its mouth. Normally feeds on crustaceans, worms, insects, and other fish.
Breeding : unknown
Suitable tankmates : Suitable companions include; knifefish, bichirs, arowanas, large cyprinids such as tinfoild barbs and silver sharks, and medium-sized catfish.
Size : Although slow-growing the Tigerfish will grow to at least 30cm/12" in the aquaria. There are reports however, of this fish reaching 60cm/24" in the wild.
