  i think it's a genetic thing... it was running around one day and dead the next..

  It can live up to 16 - 18 years.
  
  I had a chinchilla before. But cuz I moved house, nobody could take care of the pet. So I gave it to a pet shop owner who wanted to keep a chinchilla.
