Plastic Folders

  You know how after you keep a document in a plastic folder for a while, the ink sticks to the plastic and peels off when you try to remove the paper? Is there a way to minmise it when it happens? I need to extract school slips that's ended up like this.

  It has happened to me before.
  
  I guess if the document is really important, the only true way to preserve it is to laminate it.

  just peel it off?
  
  usually the ink remains on the paper.
  
  an alternative solution to the long term problem would be what was suggested above, lamination.

  so the schoolslips are still sticking to the plastic file?
  
  Cutting up that plastic file and laminating the whole 2 piece may be your only way to save your document.
  
  Or can the school re-issue another document which you can laminate.
  
  laminating machines are cheap nowadays. I had one and it was really really useful. get one that does basic A4 size paper. If you can get the A3 Lalminator, will be better.

  Put a sheet of wax paper between the sheet and the plastic folder. HTHs.

  Then, not only bits of ink will stick to the plastic folder, bits of torn paper will too!
