CNY superstitions

some of the superstitions are causing a lot of real life problems
stuff like the black moss... has caused it to be overharvested and may end up being endangered..
abalone.. the shape of ancient gold ingots, being harvested to scarily low levels...
one of them is to open the doors and windows for the God of Fortune to visit.. i figure if the family isn't awake, the burglar will too
another is not supposed to cut hair for the 15 days... cutting away the fortune or something..
white and black are verboten.. white for mourning, black for misfortune -
only heard cannort say die,wear black,curse ppl and sweep floor.

Cannot say unlucky things i suppose and no claeaning the floor ad wearing black. But i jus saw today my cousin also wore black nobody say anythng also.

Under a strong light, my black khakis appear brown. Who cares anyway, since my hair's also black.
I haven't had a haircut since the end of last month.
And at the home of one set of relatives, the adults talked about the family tree (which includes who's passed on and who hasn't). -
I only follow these superstitions on the first and second day..after that..dont care already
