Her sister died a few months before her too due to the same causes
Thank goodness she was saved!Originally posted by fudgester:On the bright side of things, they are starting to bar stick-thin models from fashion shows.
The modelling industry seriously needs a wake-up call. I know a female friend of mine who was a part-time model. She was under constant pressure to lose weight even though she was in the normal range.
She ended up being an exercise freak who would spend hours at end at a California Fitness gym and became bulimic - she would binge on large amounts of food at a go and throw up the whole thing.
She finally had the good sense to leave the modelling industry and seek help for her eating problems. She now eats regular, moderate meals.
Don't be so "paiseh".... sorry we walked too fast. When comparing to my hubby, I am actually quite slow so he always has to wait for me.Originally posted by Rhonda:honeymouse, I just feel really paiseh having you guys wait for me, that's all. If I can get myself a nice, patient, easy-going Aussie bloke with a car who drives me out for bushwalks and can wait for slow-paced me, I'll be happy.

Yeah... I once knew this plump guy who could eat two large plates of mee goreng in one sitting.Originally posted by Rhonda:Me too! Me too!
There's this lady in her late 50's working in our ward doing Housekeeping duties. She's plump, and she told me she's tried diet and exercise but she remains plump but she's accepted her body size and thinks that she's still fit and healthy, so she's happy.

On a more serious note, going the extreme in either direction is bad. Moderation is the key. I'm not in gluttony mode 24/7 you know

But was he fit? Hell, yeah. He was a school champion table tennis player. He's not just strong - he's fast... he could beat me hands down when it comes to running.
In the end, I suppose that some people are more genetically predisposed to being plump, having larger and denser bones, etc.
I believe the focus should be more on fitness and less on weight and the size of one's girth. After all, I personally know of a few guys with clinically obese BMIs due to having muscles that can scare Rambo.

nothign wrong with the liposculting except for the cost i guessOriginally posted by Rhonda:Oops, sorry, I didn't see that you had posted it already before I replied.
Anyways, before them was the Brazilian model who died at 19 because of anorexia.
And just a month ago, a beautiful young lady in her mid-20's here died after having liposuction. She was already model-size before she had that procedure done!
And now, in LA, I read that the latest fad is liposculpting, where the slim ladies go to have their arms removed of whatever little fat there is so the arms look 'sculpted'!

Oh well, mom drank a glass of full-cream milk everyday when she was pregnant with me. I was born very heavy and big. The Missy weighed me, brought me back to mom, then asked to weigh me again because she couldn't believe I was that heavy.
In Primary School, I cried every start of the school year because I was the tallest in class, so have to line-up right at the back. Not the fattest, mind you, but big compared to all the other scrawny kids in my class. Turned out a few of them got vouchers from the govt for free milk powder cause the school nurses said they were underweight and undersized for our age then. I remembered in Pri 2 or 3, the Missies looked at me when we were queuing up for our weight and height to be taken, and the old Missy said, "This one no problem one! Very well-fed!" Biangz!! I wanted to cry right then!!
Oh well, what to do, born with a 'legacy'!
