in other news, i'm addicted to watching Mythbusters.. especially the pretty Mythbuster, Kari Byron

I didn't know there were females in Mythbusters. We watch it every now and then. I like watching the air crash investigation and second from disaster.

i like her attitude.. she's so enthusiastic about stuff..
btw, they beat a fingerprint lock which was supposed to be unbeatable.. with some latex, and a warm casted thumb of ballistic gel, and.. get this.. a photocopy of a fingerprint!

yeah..
thing is that the top management of a lot of places are enamoured with technology, and are ignoring people and training..
so much so that they rather spend many millions of dollars on machines when you only need to spend a fraction of that on increasing the skills of your staff and paying them more... -
Unfortunately nowadays people trust technology more than they trust human.... think they simply forget that technology is invented by human afterall....

nah.. i think it's just stupidity and idiots being sweet-talked by con-men-sultants...
look at the Singapore North-East Line... they'd rather spend a lot more money on driverless trains than to employ drivers... -
I don't like the idea about having driverless train at all....
Oh well, our society is heading that way though. Computer is slowly replacing human. -
in the beginning, there were so many problems.. all could have been prevented if they put a driver in there..
in the end, they ended up hiring a bunch of people to walk around the trains to ensure nothing goes wrong..
right now, i think the people who sold them the system has got SBST by the proverbial balls... because they will have a contract (which they can name their price) to maintain the whole system, upgrade it and all that.. -

It's kinda like save a penny and spend a thousand
You save on the drivers pay and hire more people to walk around the train and more money on troubleshooting -
