i don't understand why people can't fax everything to them?? they force people to use the very unfriendly electronic application!

1. They spent a shitload of $$$ on said electronic application system
2. Number of electronic applications processed via said system is part of their KPI
I've a feeling someone on the receiving end of those forms wants an easy copy/cut and paste option for some reason. Other than that I can't come up with why they insist on Word. Cannot be because their computers got no PDF reader (which is free!)Originally posted by the Bear:i'm not kidding.. click here => Stupid Form
proceed for a bit and at the page where you have to fill in things, have a look.. "Authorization Letter. Attachment must be a .doc file of not more than 100KB."
the stupidity is mindboggling!

But my skinny frame becomes a liability at the chin-up station.... while I have stamina and speed, I lack raw strength. I'm ashamed to say that I've got a bit of a phobia when it comes to strength training. Brings back all the bad memories of being bullied by the other kids for being weaker than them.
I know, I know, it doesn't sound all that logical....
Heck, I failed my IPPT last year because of the chin-ups... I'm protected from RT only because I'm still studying.
actually we are about 9 hours awayfrom the weekendOriginally posted by sbst275:Morning
It's weekend...
Chingay Preview is tonight
Hmm... I guess not doing it alone may help.Originally posted by the Bear:go look up av.. he's the strength training fella.. a bit of buddy-building will help you

hmmz i handled bullies last time by fighting them and standing up to them. in retrospect i should have got them to hit me and call policeOriginally posted by fudgester:Hmm... I guess not doing it alone may help.
But I think the biggest stumbling block would be my mini-phobia of strength training. It gives me bad memories of why I was picked on by the other kids at school by constantly reminding me of how physically weak I am.
And it brings back all the bad memories of my dad scolding me for being bullied - his reasoning being that it was all my fault for being a good target for bullies. It totally wrecked my self-confidence and my ability to interact well with others.
As you might guess, I didn't really have a very happy childhood.... it wasn't too long ago before I finally realised that my dad was wrong all the while.
Yeah I know, it all sounds a bit dumb... once I can get over this mental stumbling block of mine, half the battle would be won.

i thought pushing car was more about the leg str?Originally posted by the Bear:strange thing about strength training.. some people can probably move a car single-handedly (i could before i wrecked my spine) but can't pull themselves up without killing themselves (like me)
some could do the chin-ups thing easily but dunno why they're not very strong..
it's not all down to brute force...
i think av really can help..
and... forget about the bad times, remember all the good times, close your eyes and drift away
I wanted to stand up to them, but my dad's frequent scoldings convinced me that I was indeed a weakling and deserved to be bullied.Originally posted by hisoka:hmmz i handled bullies last time by fighting them and standing up to them. in retrospect i should have got them to hit me and call police
hmmz no idea then i could try for the police's guns i guess. or i could just take it and plot revenge to torture all of them and their family?Originally posted by the Bear:what if.. you called the cops and the cops told them to hit you again?
i guess being about 1.65m to 1.7m in Pri 6 stopped bullies in their tracks for me
that and a sharp tongue... in fact, i could move easily amongst all groups.. the pai kia and the bookworms and all the lots in between tolerated my presence..
