What appliance can you do without?

Just wondering....
Of all the appliances in the house, I think my life would be very very hard if I didn't have a washer and dryer. I wanted to say something glam like the PC or the TV but... without the washer and dryer I'd have to do the wash in the bathtub. Something I simply cannot imagine having to do on a regular basis.
What about you? What can/can't you do without? -
it'll be my little lappie ... with internet connection of course ...
I no longer watch television, I get all my news, movies, music, entertainment, gossips, communications online ....

I was wondering about the thread title too....
If we're talking about an appliance I can do without, it'll probably be the dishwasher. Even with the SO over for meals, I usually don't generate enough dirty dishes, utensils and cooking implements to justify using the dishwasher. I can wash and dry them faster in the kitchen sink.
It's hard to say which appliance I can't do without, as so many of them are essential for daily living. Think about how downright inconvenient it would be if one didn't have a stove or refrigerator in the house, let alone a washer or dryer. By golly, we might as well be back in the Stone Age! -
Can't do without my walking, talking floor manager robot... good for cuddles too.

Er...speaking of appliances, are those hand-held vacuum cleaners of any use in terms of suction power? Am thinking of getting one to get rid of pet fur around the home. Any recommendation?

erm...unless there is really A LOT A LOT of fur...
my aunt's cat shed A LOT but the lint roller works fine for them... -

actually even those big ones don''t seem to suck that well.

the electric fan.. i don't think i can do without it...
nights will be unbearably hot and humid.. sleep would be impossible

I have one of these, but it doesn't work as well after a quick roll, so one has to wash and dry it before the next use. And I'm not sure it can work on rugs and sofas....will probably pick up the lint instead!Originally posted by udontknowme:go get those rolly sticky thingies instead...
