he's got B for chemistry and C maths... and C for his physics.

what are some of the career prospects for graduates in psychology?
my bro mentioned he wanna do physics last time.. but i guess he changed his mind after he got his a levels results...

Back to your question, oh well your brother can work as a counselor after graduating from Psychology. Can't think of anything else he can do apart from being a counselor.

those who know what they are doing, end up being profilers and stuff like that..

Psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication. Hmm... I'm not too sure about the career prospects that psychology majors have.
To be frank, the few people that I know who have degrees in psychology ended up not doing any jobs related to it. No offence intended.
In the end, your brother should just do whatever interests him the most... if he is interested enough in whatever he's doing, he can have a good career ahead of him. -
there IS quite a bit of choices, but to remind him: psychology is v broad base.
whats his interests? children? adults? education? research?
from then on can think bout e career path..
from wat i know, not all psych students can be counsellors, cos there is a social work faculty which teaches you how to b a counsellor...
some of e places he can work for/as:
Welfare org - e.g fei yue for kids as counselling, others can inc. prog mgr (to come up for upcoming prog for e welfare org)
boys town,
Prisons - as prison officers
MINDEF
SAF
IMH - case mgr (handle crazy pple in layman terms, help to treat them)
most hopsitals
private org - autistic partnership (help pple w autism)
NIE - teacher
education - lecturer
and e list goes on.
however, most are lookin forward to students w hons. and abv.
but effectly, to practise pysch, you'd need a masters.
which is currently not offered in sg

most impt qn: ur bro mus know wat he wants. and move on from there..
look out for recruit (newspapers), esp on saturdays...quite a few times i saw employers need pysch degs....can maybe help ur bro to make decision and to understand e current jobs maket -
to be a psychiatrist, one has to go to medical school first
after that, psychiatry is a specialisation
so they are actually medical doctors first before they specialise.... -

My cousin took Corporate Psychology for his degree but he is now selling Insurance (Not that he is doing badly) -

I think Physics is not bad at all.
My point is, just because he had a C for A level physics , he shouldn't be discouraged about reading Physics at Uni... if he has the interest, I think he can handle the subject with hard work put in.
