I knew a few social workers in Singapore due to my work. It's not an easy job because some Singaporeans can be so rude to social workers! Social Workers, like Nurses, Police, Teachers, etc are amongst the professionals with the highest levels of burnout.
Actually, I think anyone in Customer Service in Singapore would experience high burnout levels, come to think of it.

Last time in poly hardly there's a chance to get to uni... The new gen are lucky... Furthermore, they are opening up more and more places for them in uni as time goes by -

The engineer union is not as strong as the pilots so they had to get alot of paycuts
They are still looking to cut the engineers pay further (BTW SO already had like a $1k pay cut ok)
And best part is they cut the engineers' pay and increase management salary
in singapore, it'll only be like switching from one goverment company to another eh ? ....

Exactly!! The customer service people are the scapegoats for companies' stupid policies. I went for interview once fresh out of school
I nearly laughed in the interviewer's face -
Sigh... gotta leave for work now.
I just realised that even though I didn't work yesterday, which is a Public Holiday here, I STILL get a normal day's pay!!
If I worked, I would've gotten double, but wow, it's really not bad! Paid for a day's work that I didn't do!!
