But it seems to me that the government is overdoing it and offering massive subsidies to any Tom, D*ck, and Harry who claims to be a foreign talent.
Some of them are indeed geniuses.... but I can state for a fact that quite a number of them seem to be there to make up the numbers only. I know of a few who have sub-3.0 point averages.... foreign 'talents', huh?
Would it be too hard to impose some sort of conditions on them? Say, if they fail to get at least 3.5 for two subsequent semesters, their subsidies get withdrawn? If they are true talents, 3.5 is really not difficult for them to get.
It irks me that I have to take out 100% loans and have $25K worth of liabilities while my taxes pay for these 'sub-talent' to compete against me. -
Sometimes I try hard not to think what the taxes I pay are used for coz I will just end up bitter and pissy

I would far rather have my taxes help pay for a poverty-stricken but talented Singaporean who cannot afford to go to uni than subsidise one of those foreign sub-talents I talked about who may well be able to afford it.

But seriously, its one thing if the foreign talent really wants to come in on their own and pay their own way, its another thing when the gahmen actively seeks them out on a regular basis and uses taxpayers' money to pay their fees and living expenses...and that of their families!!

Actually, I woke up this morning and asked myself why, why do I need to work. Why can't I pull off some big crime and escape to the Carribean Islands with millions and spend the rest of my life at the beach under the coconut tree on the hammock with those drinks with umbrellas in them

last nite had a stupid dream abt someone... and then woke up by the neighbor's baby who cries at 5am NON-STOP! i almost wanna yell ur nick downstairs sia
then tis morn talk to my agt and realised thr's a form to sign b4 i can sell the flat... and i can't even get his statement for the past 3mths! how to get him to sign a stupid form?!
