arggghhhhhhhhh..... so many things to do for wedding!!!
1) gown. i dun even know wat design looks good on a plus size bride (ya i'm big n beautiful). got so many cut-outs n getting so confused. Honeymouse.. i like ur gown... but not gonna copy it la dun worry.
2) photographer. good ones r so expensivee and one of them just scared the jeepers out of me. He was happily rattling off what overseas shoot he did, the beauty peagants, media events, big big grand grand weddings etc etc. Even asked me where i getting my gown, who is my make up artist, blah blah blah. Sound as if he is sussing out if we can afford him or not.
N here I am thinking - erhm i just wan someone to take really nice memories of my most impt day. omg he sound so 'atas' and 'diva'. I dun work well with pple like dat leh. TX still say 'let go see'. omg
so far TX n I only agreed on one photographer's work. the rest (including 'mr atas' ) were a one-sided 'love affair'. crossing fingers that the one photog we like will click when we meet.
3) my fren just asked me 'who is your make up artist ah?'. omg, i tot just use the one provided by bridal studio? my fren went quiet then say 'oh mine dun have so i getting my own'. dun know she is just being nice or she got a shock that i would use the make up artist from the bridal studio.
4) solemnizer/celebrant. church only does weddings on saturday, i'm refusing to change wedding date but i still want a wedding officiated by church. looks like i will have to settle for a Justice of Peace and will never have the wedding i wan since i was a little gal
5) weight-loss plan has only yielded 2kg of loss. gotta work harder
6) i think i'm bursting my budget
7) i wan to scale down the wedding.... smaller wedding means less headaches right?

When my sister got married last year, I was planning to lend her my wedding dress unfortunately it's just too troublesome to bring it over to Singapore from Oz and she's much smaller than I am so would require alteration.
FYI, I got the dress for A$900 and it cost me A$400 on dry clean only!!! (half the cost of my dress). So there are pros & cons of having your own dress sometimes.
In Oz, people believe you need the following things with you for the wedding:
Something new, something borrowed, something old and something blue. -
Can't you get your pastor to marry you somewhere else? We didn't get married in the church as there were several reasons:
- need to organise transport to take me from home to church, church to reception (extra cost)
- extra cost to have it at church
- Most people have the church wedding at 2pm and reception at 6pm so what are the guests going to do in between?? Too troublesome.
So we ended up having our wedding ceremony and reception at the same place. Fortunately in Oz, many reception places have their own chapel for people to use. My pastor was very kind to come out to officiate our wedding (FOC). -

my church is big (think 15K attendance for service). which means they run it a bit like business. my pastor would not even know i attend his church
wedding location is at the beach. i was hoping to invite an elder or associate pastor to do the solemization and have a small worship (2-3 songs/hymns). but the lady from church has told me that pastor/elder is only available on saturdays (non-public holiday) for weddings. our wedding is on a weekday. plus there is a whole bunch of other reasons but i shall not bore u with the details.
you are so blessed to have your pastor willing to officiate.

Sorry you're in such a frenzy.
But you must pace yourself,cos there's still such a long way to go! Prolonged stress like that will really wear you out. 
1) do you have a favourite style or neckline, or one that you know will really flatter you? Or eliminate the styles that you CANNOT do? It's a good start.
2) no worries sooner or later you will find one !
3) for the sake of your sanity, try not to compare! I think the bridal studios have good MUA too, so many clients can't be wrong. Go to your bridal studio's thread on sgbrides.com, read the reviews of the MUAs by the other girls , choose the best rated, then firmly tell your studio you want to work with her. The studio can accomodate it.
4) Aahh... this one is abit LL. Have you tried giving the pastor a major guilt trip ? I would if I were you

The church I attend here is not as big as yours, each service hold at least 2k people. Even with that size, it's hard enough to get to know the people, not to mention the pastoral team. We know them but they don't know you.
However, I don't think our church has any restriction of which day of the week to do wedding. As long as they are available and you're a member of the church, they are happy to do it for free (including doing the premarital counselling).
I chose that particular pastor to officiate our wedding because I had dealt with him in the past before when I was helping out with the monthly holy communion preparation. It was fortunate that he was available for our wedding day. He did a very fantastic job and many of our non-Christian friends came up to tell us later how much they enjoyed the service.
Anyway, I am sure everything will fall into places for you. Perhaps, you might have to approach another church to get the pastor there to officiate your wedding. Keep praying about it and let God guide you what He wants you to do. -

I bought my wedding dress 11 months before the wedding. Very often the wedding dress will need to have alteration done anyway, so you can buy the dress now but do the alteration 3 months before the wedding (provided you don't outgrow the dress!! ).

You can book your accommodation online closer to the date. Usually get a good deal. I use that everytime I am going somewhere..... Not bad.

About your wedding dress, if you are definitely going to buy your own, there are something you should take note:
- try to find your shoes AFTER you bought your dress and try to match the color
- when you take your dress for alteration, you need to bring your shoes with you and put it on so that they can work out the exact length of your dress. I am sure you don't want the dress to be too short to show your shoes. -
I'll be coming with TX. Tentative plan is 29 Aug to 3 Sept. But dates might change if we can't get tickets.
about the gown, i'll buy only i'm absolutely in love with it. My aim is to get more ideas to bring back to sg (aus got gowns in my size u see). my church gives wedding counselling 6months before wedding so still early for us.

When I shopped for my wedding dress, I actually did it alone. I saw a dress I really like on the magazine so I went in to the shop to try it on. It didn't look great on me so I didn't buy it.
A few weeks later, I was going to buy something for my mum (to send it to her) and I happened to walk passed a bridal shop which I never knew it was there so I decided to go in and took a look. Tried on 2 dresses and one of them was the one I bought. So when I tried the one I bought, I fell in love with it and the price was quite reasonable so without much hesitation I just bought it. I actually bought it on lay-by, put some deposit and I had 3 months to pay it off. I could pay it off in one go but since I didn't need the dress yet, might as well let them keep the dress for me while I can free up some cash.
Also, for Western culture, you're not supposed to show your "hubby-to-be" your wedding dress until the actual wedding day!!
