just curious to know...usually how long do ppl get engaged or how long after ROM is it still considered appropriate to hold the dinner thing...
we are planning to do ROM and dinner on the same day. I'm not familiar with engagement. i think old folks take rom = engagement but ang mohs (where the word engagement came from) take it as something else.
most of my frens ROM first then hold wedding dinner. it can be anyway from 3months to 3years from ROM to dinner. my personal choice is to all in 1 day, easier to remember anniversaries -
oh remember to have a polariod station so you can have pictures of your guest besides their well wishes!

There are good, credible vendors around but alot depends on your budget . I notice no budget stated heheh.
Has anyone been to a outdoor solmisation? How you feel about it, what was the wet weather contingency plan, dress code, location, afternoon or evening?
Need to request for hotel to provide wet weather plan or marquee for your solemnization ceremony Anyone knows a good florist that does those floral arrangement for weddings? like decorating the chairs with flowers, etc.
Ask from hotel if they have recommended florist, they usually do. Advantage - florist is familiar with venue, hotel trusts florist. Any other good deco ideas dinner venue more 'unique'? the table and chairs r white (cannot change color ) and i dun like white
As above, ask the recommended florist what they can do. E.g. colored table cloths on top of the white ones and floral arrangements. Anyone used wedding planners? Are they value for money or not necessary?
IMO, not necessary. You will need a team of friends or relatives to work with you, for pre-wedding preparation work as well as duties on the actual day. (need help just sms :^D) for bridal studios, any good ones to recommend? and why?
Budget is key here. IMO you can shop around, start with bridal magazines, then visit a studio whose gowns you like. Then go back singaporebrides.com to check for reviews.
What to look out for - a designer than is gam with you in personality , who has a sense of aesthetics that is gam with yours i.e. both have same concept of "nice / pretty". Also important is credibility - if shop has reputation of being late, last minute work, drop immediately. anyone knows of a good live band that will be good for wedding dinner?
Singaporebrides.com will be good forum to check on this. I know it's confusing but is good resource i was told hard liquor no corkage charge. if Jack, Jim and Johnny was served instead of Tiger, Merlot and Chardonnay, will it be very un-wedding like?

You know best what your guests will appreciate. Maybe just provide one wine and the rest, your choice. the most important question: how to convince parents that having a wedding during chinese ghost festival is OK? (i dun wan to change date )
Are you sure you wanna put deposit before convincing them?
Or is that the plan, pay first then tell them so they bo bian? LOL

actually dinner can be a few tables and cost $300-600 at resturants. When your guests give you ang bao, you will be able to cover most of the cost. one of my galfrens managed to cover cost of dinner ($400 per table x 30 tables) plus cos of bridal package ($298
plus a few hundred left over. so it is actually not a very very expensive thing if your dinner is not too expensive.
but if you like me wan to have romantic by the beach plus lots of extras, then gotta prepare to pay for myself if angbao can cover 80% of the dinner cost i very happy oready. -

We decided on international buffet coz just indian or chinese food is really not appropriate la
