i blame TX, he always have dinner past 8pm

Avoid Salt, caffenated drinks & alcohol for dinner. And avoid drinking too much liquids at night. It makes for bloated everywhere look in the morning.
Make your own fiber rich desserts. Like cool down n fridge Oatmeal porridge with some raisins or fruits. Try those small 90 cents ikea bowls portion.
And do pilates. They have some stomach crunches kinda exercise that tones belly real well.
