I got some pain on the left side of my hip for abt 3days after I went for a swim. I think I better monitor. Too bad I got no 11B now to use. Later I go see doc and he say is muscle pain, use relief cream and 20bucks please.
It's usually quite a sharp pain, so bad sufferers usually 'guard' that area with their hands and they sometimes keel over from the pain too. Usually, a sudden fever develops at the same time as the pain and when the doctor palpates (ie. presses on that area), it is very tender and the pain feels sharper.
The actual location is the right lower quadrant of the torso, and for the appendix, it is in a special nook known as the "McBurney's Point".
Muscle aches in general don't feel sharper when the doc presses on the area. The kind of pain you get when it is appendicitis and when the doc presses on the area is a pain so sharp you kinda feel like blacking out or sucking in air or screaming out in agony.
