i think my bioclock is spoilt Some people just don't want to have kids, I respect that. Kids really take alot out of you - financially, physically, emotionally, etc. Also, depending on their temperament, they can break up a marriage too. -

I think of them as pesky squirmy things and I tend to refer to kids as 'it'
The kids I'm ok with are kids over the age of 12 -
For some of us, the honeymoon feeling doesn't really end. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who still feel that way. Kids or no kids, sometimes we feel like we are a new couple, enjoying togetherness. The kids I'm ok with are kids over the age of 12 Hey, I know some kids who are that way. But you know, your kids will be the best behaved because you will teach them to be wonderful people from day one.

There is no one to look after my kid if I have one seriously
My mum is out of the question coz of her work and she does have to travel quite a bit
My dad is busy with his social work stuff
My mother-in-law ..... she can barely speak English. I don't want my kid only knowing how to speak tamil
There is no one else besides me unless my boss allows me to bring my kid to the office
Quitting my job is not a solution too coz that only means we have a big hole in monthly household income -

i tried to get my parents to hug while taking photo once.... they embarassed me by making faces at each other, bickering under a huge heart made of flowers *piak forehead* -
Bwahahaha!!!! We've trained the kids from very young to sleep through anything. We would turn on the radio or vacuum the house when we put them down to sleep. My parents aren't demonstrative either. It was much much later when I was in my 30s that my mother confided in me that she wishes my dad would at least hold her hand.
Now, my kids, whether it's a peck on the cheek or a kiss from hubby or me or vice versa, they'll say, "Geez, there are kids in the room you know! " -
I can understand the one income predicament. That's what happened with me too. The early years were very hard on us, financially and physically. We were in Sg until my son was 3 months old and my daughter, 2 years old. I thought life was hard then but it only got harder when we moved to Japan. Though I dont spank the nephew, I slap his wrist when he bullies his little sister.
And last time, I slapped back at a 5 year old when he uses the hard end of a jumping rope to hit my mother on the head. And it was not accidental. He was getting away with it cos he thinks he can.
and if I could, I want to slap back at my cousin for raising such rude ugly kids. He and his family are forever in a world of their own and should qualify for serious canning for their bad manners, attitude and characters. They are the branch of family members that is breeding patients at the IMH. Serious. Too bad IMH dont quarantine them for life.
