how come everything looks clear on my screen
yet when i send it to the lab for print, the colour comes out all blotchy.
have i "over edited"?
only for some pictures, for no explainable reason. some heavily post-processed pics turn out fine while others with zero post processing, and exposed to protect highlights, turn out bizarre T___TOriginally posted by kopiosatu:u mean u have the same problem when u send it for print?
on the screen, the transition from shadow to skin texture is smooth.
yet when i get it back, even on the 4R its like someone used the "cutout" filter in photoshop.
initially i thought it was the lab's problem, so i sent it to other labs and the results are the same, they can't seem to tahan the colours i'm giving to them.
then i thought maybe i over-edited.
if u sent yours in with minimum editing and the results are the same, then i really don't know already.
somemore on the screen my focus points are all sharp, on the photos its... blur.
not blur in a gaussian blur way, but the lines are not clean.
Sorry to hear that. Hope things are well on the home front though. I've been busy with work as well, and only started to have a break this week. Being a short week, I'm feeling the holiday mood.Originally posted by choco B:Heey Wanda
Yeah been busy at work and other matters. Has not been a good March for me and April looks like a dump too from where I'm standing Between dealing with all that and the accompanying periods of moodiness & angst , not good company at all .. even on the forums
How are you?

Ok... have I turned off you ladies?
no no, its not about the 'wrong' colours. my screen has been calibrated and the colour is alright.Originally posted by the Bear:my vendors always have this caveat: colours onscreen may not be the colours printed...
anyway, ask av about this... he rants about this sometimes..
in other news, i got the pic scanned
wanna see?

Can you scan and show us a sample. I'm curious.Originally posted by kopiosatu:no no, its not about the 'wrong' colours. my screen has been calibrated and the colour is alright.
i'm just wondering what went wrong with the print. rather than have a nice shade/transition, it looks like some crayon colouring. everything doesn't look smooth at all.

That's EXACTLY my problemOriginally posted by kopiosatu:i
its strange that on the screen the texture is visible, when i send for print its the opposite. alot of details that make the picture work are lost.
!!!
i don't have a scanner~Originally posted by Wanda:Can you scan and show us a sample. I'm curious.
i'll be suffering the most, i gotta give 300 prints!Originally posted by av98m:That's EXACTLY my problem
and it doesn't matter if its 4R or S8R, same problem
weird thing is , other pictures taken on the same day at the same place with the same camera will turn out fine. there will just be a few that can never turn out right!!
