I believe the HK-gers get Thur off as a public holiday for Qing Ming. They have the most no. of public holidays in Asia, plus unofficial half-days off for mooncake festival, Dong Ji (winter festival), etc. *Sigh...* -

yeah, problem with printing your own stuff is that you need to buy a good printer, which will cost you. good paper will also cost you. and then there is ink and maintenance, which will cost you.Originally posted by kopiosatu:i want to print on my own in future.

to avoid printing that much i have to jump away from the 'mass printing' industry like weddings.
its actually more expensive to do your own printing, but if its the only way to get consistent results................
practically every fine art/landscape photographer I know of do their own printing. not sure about weddings and events -

could be that you are shooting in too high res..
seriously..
in order to cram a 10MP picture into a 4R, it will require some "squishing"
and remember.. these are pixels you are talking about... they are not as fine as photons... or grain from film which you can squish almost infinitely...
the smooth line becomes a stepladder because that's the mathematical formula which will approximate to that smooth line when squished..
try dropping a 3000 pixel wide pic by a factor of three.. you will get 1000pixels
try dropping it by a factor of 1.7 and you will get an irrational number... -

yah.. it will be at random..
simply because each time you squish it, it will attempt to find the "best fit" for the pixels.. along with the colour scheme and whatnot..
programs are not human so there is no "fine adjustment" to them...

Last night's Frasier was hilarious
Niles got a bunch of photos from his wife Daphne.
The last pic was a pretty blurry one of ...well, a boob.
Niles gets all hot and bothered and excited, cannot stop looking at the pic at every opportunity. He did comment that she must have forgotten to adjust the f-stop, since only the nipple is in focus.
This goes on for a while....................................until he speaks to Daphne on the phone and finds out to his horror, that Marty(his dad) took that pic and he has been staring and fantacising about his dad's nipple all this time!!!!!
Niles spends the remainder of the episode severely traumatised.
