Two types of people you find at the office

I find that the people in the office can be broadly categorised into two types.
Type 1 - those who work in order that they can go on leave and enjoy a vacation away from it all.
Type 2 - those who go on vacation in order to rest so they can get back to work refreshed and more productive.
which type are you?

but frankly, type 2 people scare me.. this topic came about because the boss is going on some leave in May.. made me think because between herself and her husband, they seem to not have a life at all.. she said there isn't a single music CD in her house, they don't watch much tv, they don't go to the cinema, the bloody husband has a notebook from work which he uses for work until late at night (i got an email from him date-stamped saturday 10pm before)
what got me thinking was that the boss actually said that she'll be back before a big event, and that the holiday was actually to rest so that she can concentrate on that big event..
i'm wondering.. what happens to these people when they retire?
all they know, their whole lives, everything they are, is their work... at the office..
just like i told one guy who comes in 7am and leaves at 9pm almost every day.. he said he's due to retire in 2 years.. i said that he'll seek to be re-employed under the scheme we have, and the moment he retires is about 3 seconds before the nail his coffin shut.. -
eh.... i don't think i'm type 1 but i don't like to work either so i can't be type 2

I see depression if any of them lose their jobs or have to retire
They're like robots

I am auntie, nanny, cook & fold the laundry person. -
erm... i work and go on leave to enjoy myself.. then come back to work harder
yes it worries me too... i'm turning workaholic
my next upcoming leave would be end sept... is tat too long? -
my last leave period was in Dec during the Christmas week...
i can't even forecast when my next one will be coz this 2 months, lots of things that require my attention... then after that in June, new fella comes in to learn the ropes...
chances are maybe even the boss is going to be transferred..
dunno when i can go on leave..

Type 2s... maybe they just really love what they're doing.

I think I am 50-50 type 1 & type 2. Trying hard to balance my private life and work. Can be difficult at times but with some effort it's doable.

I know people in the office who do not read anything other than work related documents/papers/books.
Not even the newspaper, and certain no reading for pleasure.
TV? Forget about it.
Music? Nope.
That is certainly no way to live -

I mean yes you love your job
But to the extend of not having music cds etc is way extreme!!!
Not having any hobbies etc
Woo boy are they going to be shocked when they retire! -

i mean i vege, i watch tv, i watch movies, i read, i take pics, i go walk about, i go out with friends...
what do they do apart from work? -

I'm not anywhere near retirement but I'm already planning what to do in my retirement. *rubs hands*

Long as they are happy doing wad they do, why you care so much long as you get your pay punctually atthe end of each month? You don't approve their lifestyle but it's likely they won't approve of yours either........... So live and let live lor!

I scare working under female boss, they go on 3 months maternity leave. You have to do their work but not get their pay!

In the first 3/4 of my career life, i was inclined towards type 2
But during the last quarter of my career life, i am definitely Type 1.
Looking forward to my next getaway
