Things to do in Singapore

Hi everyone!
It's been a looong looong time since I've logged in... how's everyone?
I've a question to ask - a friend of mine is going to Singapore to work from mid-April - she's never lived/worked in Singapore before. Does anyone have any tips on where to go for:
a) Arts & entertainment (she likes going for concerts, plays, those sort of things)
b) Yummy makan places! (as I've been out of Singapore for so long I can't really recommend anywhere good... forgotten already lah!
)
Err.. err... what else is there to do in Singapore, ah?

other activities to do in singapore:
visit the zoo, bird park, museums, little india, chinatown -
On Friday evenings, admission to the museums is free, if I remember correctly. Namely the S'pore Art Museum, National Museum and Asian Civilisations Museum.
She can pick up the street magazine I.S. or refer to ST Life on Fridays to see what events are taking place. -
oh yah, if she is into night life or interested to take a look, rber to go the cannery (Ministry of Sound, the clinic, cafe del mar @ sentosa) and st james powerstation

Ask her to watch out for those free stuff like Concert in the Park, those free Mosaic concerts etc which is still good stuff -
