Social eitquette.
In USA, its very common for people to clear the food from the tables and empty it themselves. So the next group of people using the tables has at least a empty table to start with.
Its social responsibility.
I can never tell you how at home I am in USA. Cos I am the kind that can hold onto rubbish till i see a rubbish bin. -

you guys will not believe what the families with their badly brought up children were doing there

How do you expect them to clean up when they have maids at home and parents to clean up after them
The sad thing is they do not realise how fragile the eco-system is in these nature destinated areas and that once destroyed... it takes lots of time or impossible to get back. -

I used to roam there long years ago ... and when i first saw that newspaper coverage a few years back my heart just sank ... I knew it'll never be the same ever again ....
ditto labrodor park, the seashore where the new jetty is used to one the last spot on the singapore mainland where you could find corals on wading from the shoreline ....
it's all gone now ....
now I'm not being elitist or anything, but I'll divulge my nature spots, in singapore or overseas, be they fishing holes, diving spots, camping grounds, hiking trails etc ... only to those that I know will take care of them ...
people who aren't properly educated about the environmental impact of their activities will end up destroying the sites that they visit ... -
