I eat at food courts, hawker centres, practically all those clearing plates/cleaning up are elderly folk, some of whom are frail and hunched.
I go public toilets, same thing. Elderly folks.
I go fast food restaurants, same thing. Mostly elderly folks.
I walk around, elderly folks selling tissue, begging, rummaging rubbish bins for empty drink cans.
I don't know what to think, really. -

if LKY and the rest of the asswipes think the country should be beholden to them forever (see the BS said by the ministers) then they have a moral duty to look after the elderly who slogged through our nation-building times..
oh.. i forgot.. there is no such thing as moral duty from them.. only a moral duty to them... -
Well, perhaps , for some of them. But many of those cleaners/helpers have obviously difficulty even walking fast and their faces sure don't look happy. LKY himself has basically admitted that none of them feel a sense of duty to serve the country, saying that it is an 'admirable sentiment' and nothing else. -

friend complaining to me about my boss being an obsessive micromanager..
boss is chairman of organising some seminar... friend is one of the committee members... she said that the boss is going through EVERYTHING.. including how many power sockets they need, where the VIP will stand, how many people they should cater for lunch...
uhh.. that's what the committee members are for.. to work out the details..
they're getting sick of her telling them what to do when it's done in another way which will get them the same result.. and imposing herself in technical matters which she knows nothing about (remember the power supply rant she made? )
i told my friend.. you don't have to see her after this stupid seminar.. think about me.. she's my boss! -

At least the elderly people here get some kind of pension from the Government. Mind you, now the Government also tries to encourage people not to retire to early because of the aging population and there are not enough young people to replace them.
