Sorry, was out of the house with family for dinner.
They manage to find a malaysian restaurant at Santa Ana and we had a jolly hard time running after the kids feeding them and eating ourselves. Thankfully the restaurant only has us as customer so early in the evening. So all of us adults was pratically eating standing on our feet most times.
then its to the Ranch 99 market which is actually a asian supermarket where I buy the groceries for this week.
I've actually brought more snack items cos I noticed how we really dont have time to eat, and that the kids are in the grazing stage, where they dont eat proper meals, but loves snacks. -

I was told this morning that we just got a list of new sites from our client to do and also a new graduate engineer will be starting on Monday.
Somehow, my project manager thinks it's a good idea for the graduate engineer to run the sites. I can't believe that....... the graduate engineer has no previous working experience and doesn't even know what a base station is etc.... What the....?

I just ran down to Bugis to buy Royal cake for my colleague's birthday to discover they are no longer there!!!!
Then I ran down to Plaza Sing to Secret Recipe for a cake!
I have not tried their blueberry cheese cake before and i hope it's good! >< -

but i'll have to say this ... life in the west as a minority is not for the thin-skinned ...... it's a bit hard for Singaporean Chinese especially, who grew up in a society where we were in the majority ....
stealth racism exists in daily life, you get a bit of it here and there nearly everyday ... if you dwell on those and mope over them you'd go crazy in short order ....
but i can tell you that ... as I told a malay friend of mine, living here made me a better person, more attuned to the sensitivities of others ...... -

but how do you deal with stealthier incidents ? ....
what do you do when you notice that all the asians in the class were getting ones and twos over 10 for project presentations when everyone else was gettig eights and nines ? ... what do you do when the cashier greets everyone in line with a cheery smile and a "how's it going", but reserved a stony faced silence for you, when you yourself were hanging a beaming smile on your face ? ... when second hand bookshop owners asks you to leave your backpack by the counter, when ang mohs were wandering around with their totes around the place ? .... what do you do when the club bouncer tells you no T-shirts allowed, when the ang moh chap in front of you just went into the club in one ? ....
I'd stop here now ... need to fetch another beer ..... -
