What do you buy at Duty Free Shops?

if have spare cash.. buy some designer products -
last time ? ... it was a carton of marlboro lights .....
now it's just baileys and beer ..... -
next round, let's see.. apart from the usual whatever strange beer and moderately cheap wine, i'll get myself some Irish Whiskey..

Depends on which countries DFS lor... From Singapore would buy cigarettes out, from States and Europe would buy branded bags and stuff, from Hong Kong and Taiwan would buy cosmetics, back at Singapore would buy wine and liquor...

by the way.. i've said ad nauseum... only FOUR things are dutiable in Singapore..
- Tobacco
- Alcohol
- Motor Vehicles
- Motor Spirits (petrol, diesel..)
everything else, is NOT dutiable... so you buy anything else from the DFS, is basically the same thing you get at any shop in Singapore...
since there is no Duty-Free allowances from Malaysia, only at the Sea Ports and Airport when you're coming in from anywhere else except Malaysia, you are given allowances... Motor Vehicles and Motor Spirits is not part of the duty free allowances anyway, and neither is Tobacco..
the only thing that is truly Duty-Free when bringing into Singapore is Alcohol
you are allowed 1 litre of Spirits, 1 litre of wine or port, 1 litre of beer, stout, ale or porters...
so, now you are educated as to what DFS is all about when coming to Singapore

Okay, now that I've been "educated" by ah Bear, I will continue to buy nothing.

DFS shops sell things which aren't available in other shops too! Stuff like cosmetic sets from the branded cosmetics companies. They also have limited edition sampler perfume sets which I love, especially the Escada ones! They also box up sets of skincare products, which is kinda exclusive to their shops.
Back to the topic, let's see...
Usually, it's cosmetics sets and perfume sets. This time round, the CHOYA range there caught my eye!! There was the normal CHOYA, the red CHOYA with herbs, and the Golden Honey CHOYA!! Wanted to buy them all but thought, take it easy with da spending money!! 
Oh well, I'll have two more trips in and out of the airport so it's still not too late!!
When I reach Melbourne, I'd love to buy Absolut Peach and Absolut Raspberry for myself to try! And oh, the small bottle of Bailey's, which you can buy for just A$5 if you buy A$50 worth of liquour there! -

Yah yah.....Rhonda, I understand what you are saying about those really cheap packaged lipsticks & miniture perfumes.
Too bad Chanel dont do packaged minitures colognes for the guys. They will be soooo nice as gifts!
And I am still trying to find the Chanel travel packs of perfumes. They have those refillables but they are soo bulky to carry around! -

Used to buy wine, but now good wines are easily available from the supermarts and aren't that expensive, so I hardly buy anything from duty free nowadays.

I really should have got the Ice Wine Chocolate Truffles from the Northwest Flight from Sg to Japan. They were packaged in Wine Boxes which makes it quite a novelty.
The Japan to USA leg dont have duty free on flights dunno why. -
