  is it cheaper to tailor-make a gown than to buy it off shelves?

  cheaper if u tailor yourself.
  
  my sis knows how.. but it's really time-consuming..
  
  so buy off-shelves also save the trouble sometimes..

  i only own 1 black dress. Bought it for my sis wedding 2 yrs back. Yep.. only wore it once.

  OG has a selection of ready to wear cheongsums too. For Plus size ladies and they cost less then $500/-. They are very very elegant. And I think it makes really young ladies look very classy. Dont buy it too tight so it can drape beautifully.
  
  And dont wear constricting corsets. My mother made me wore one during a D nD. And she got a neighbourhood auntie to come do my hair and make up.
  
  I look so Getai! thankfully, no one recognised its me, cos I was so fat and the make up so blue purple and really really thick.
  
  
  
  From then on.....I wore jacket suits to wedding dinner. And only gowns to dinners. Wear cheongsums to other dinners, but absolutely keep it quiet and never tells my mom when I do. Cos I was sooooo scared of her 'make up artists friends'.
  
  Hair though.....always nice to do it up prettily.

  VK, i do go Robinsons and OG quite often la..
  
  people think OG is somewhere only aunties go though..
  
  but i usually go OG de Giordano.. coz got 20% discount. hehe.

  I dun have a good figure. cheongsums are not for me..
  
  is it bcos of the cheongsum or u really have long legs?

  There used to be this shop at Bugis Junction. Shop name is 'Just' or something. They sell really simple gowns too. I think there is similiar shops selling ladies dresses, gowns, co-cktail dresses at Bishan Junction 8 and so on.
  
  Prices is below the $200/- range.
  
  Always good to have a gown for all occasion.
  
  I really would suggest a gown in denim material.
  
  Not black, so can wear for weddings dnners; company dinners & casual receptions at theatres.
  
  You only need to accessories. Throw in cowboy hat and boots and you can go for a cowboy theme party.
  
  Pearls, lace chokers for a formal look and a shawl to ward off the cold.
  
  And denim material colours are evergreen. Plus, its unique. Go tailor one lah. You wont regret it.

  Yep! Me agree on the colour... Suitable for most occasions, unless there's a colour definition...
