What you pack for Travelling

  Since most folks on Club30s are frequent flyers. I figure this might be reasonable reason to start a thread to discuss what to bring on any trip, to any country, against whatever climate & whatever situations.

  Uhm...clothes, slippers, toiletries, camera, guidebook, some packets of tissue paper, packet of biscuits, money, passport. Add lip balm, moisturiser and a jacket if the weather calls for it.

  For longer then 3 days stay out of the country.
  
  3 pairs of slightly loose thin material jeans
  
  2 long sleeve cotton tee
  1 short sleeve polo tee
  2 short sleeve cotton tee
  2 pairs of shorts comfy enough for sleeping in
  
  3 bras
  5 panties
  3 pairs of socks
  
  1 pair slippers/crocs
  1 pair sports shoes/hiking shoes
  
  1 water bottle with filter
  1 blanket
  1 jocky cap
  1 towel
  1 piece of cardigan
  
  1 set of travel tolietries.

  I just need to remember these: passport, cash, credit card and/or travellers' cheques.

  Depending on the number of days iam away. When i was a young gal and could never travel alone i would pack as much as a i can but now i pack as little as i can cos of SHOppiinngg.. Pjs 2 sets to be its maximum and undergarments to be changed everyday.... jeans, 3days= 1 pair and shirt everyday change!!!

  The most unusual thing I had to pack was toilet rolls...lots of them...when I travelled to Pakistan (no paper provided).

  I've learnt not to pack PJs cos I wear hotel robe or T shirt, which is more practical

  cos I am going pakistan in June probably.... hope i dont have to bring rolls and rolls...

  Ooh, lovely. I hope to go back one day, with SO.
  
  I went backpacking on the Karakoram Highway long time ago...from Islamabad to North west China. No serious trekking involved, except for a day trek somewhere. You don't have to bring toilet rolls if you use water. They always have water in their toilets which are ok lah.

  hee i am going to the rakaposhi trek.. the tour also takes us to the karakoram highway

  Donkeys? To help with carrying all the toilet rolls?
  
  How many days is your trek? Some friends of mine are going in June to climb K2... the name alone gives me acute mtn sickness already.

  This time round, I finished packing my luggage for Perth in less than half an hour! Basically, I was too lazy and unenthusiastic to think much so I kinda followed Bear's guidelines! He said something like 5 tops and yada-yada so I just followed!
  
  Anyways, this trip wasn't pre-planned so even though it's Autumn, I only have Summer clothes with me and one Winter jacket. I know I'm not appropriately dressed but I'm not going to buy more clothes now.
  
  I think if one's travelling to a developed or developing country, one needn't worry too much about basic toiletries. I tend to like to prepare travel-sized toiletries instead of bringing along the entire tube / bottle.
  
  What's really necessary would be the Passport, Spending Money in the country's currency, and the Visa / Mastercard.
  
  If the country of destination is a good place for shopping, the less you pack, the better!

  i very kiasu wan lor..
  
  i wear one set go there, then at night sleep one set.
  another 2 sets each for every other day..
  
  bath towel
  
  toiletries - miniature facial foam, body gel, shampoo, conditioner (sometimes), toothbrush, toothpaste, perfume
  
  panty liners and sanitary pads juz in case
  
  umbrella
  
  small water bottle (dun think now can bring liao)
  
  plastic bags for dirty laundry
  
  handphone
  
  passport
  
  money
  
  chinese medicine (bao ji wan) and panadol
  
  spectacles
  
  girls usually pack a lot more than guys.. i remember when i went travelling with frens, my guy fren only bought one set of clothes, passport, money and hp.

  a jacket or sweater
  some underwear
  ipod
